Midterm Grades due March 5 at Midnight

Midterm grades are due 3/5 at 11:59 p.m. Instructors are required to submit midterm grades for all 100- and 200-level courses.  Midterm grading should be used to submit grades assigned for non-attendance.

Zoom with Closed Captioning and Live Transcripts
Zoom live transcription is now available for UA Zoom accounts! This can be enabled by the host, and any participants can view the captioning as needed. Live transcription only supports English. To enable captioning, sign into the Zoom web portal and edit In Meeting (Advanced) Settings.

Possible Collaborate Ultra Downtime – Early AM 2/19, 2/25, 2/26, 3/5

Blackboard Collaborate Ultra will be performing scheduled infrastructure maintenance during the times listed below.

  • February 19, 2021 1:00 AM – 5:00 AM CST
  • February 25, 2021 1:00 AM-  5:00 AM CST **expect intermittent availability**
  • February 26, 2021 1:00 AM – 5:00 AM CST
  • March 5, 2021 1:00 AM – 5:00 AM CST

While we anticipate no interruption in service as a result of the work, we cannot entirely rule out short periods of intermittent connectivity during this maintenance window.

Scheduled Maintenance 2/13: Video Feedback in Blackboard Assignment Grading

Scheduled Maintenance, February 13, 2021: Video Recording Feedback in Blackboard Learn Assignment Grading

Instructors can record video feedback to students as they are grading assignments in Learn courses. This recording feature is provided by some subcomponents of Blackboard Collaborate. Those components require maintenance over a window of a maximum of 3 hours on Saturday, February 13, 2021. Video Feedback recording may be unavailable during this time.

Partial Zoom Outage

Zoom is investigating reports from a subset of users that they are unable to access the Zoom website and/or are having issues starting/joining meetings. Zoom recommends any impacted users dial into their meetings while the issue is being investigated. It appears to be a network related issue, possibly related to Verizon. Using Panopto in Safari Reminder

Safari users may need to make a settings adjustment if prompted to log into Blackboard when accessing a course. We have step-by-step guidance on our website. This setting can also affect other Blackboard content, such as RedShelf or publisher content.

Zoom Airplay Issue

Our teams are investigating an issue where some presenters are unable to connect devices via Airplay when screensharing during a Zoom meeting. Visit the CIT News page for updates as our teams work toward a resolution.

Missing Blackboard Courses

Some users are not able to see their Spring 2021 Blackboard Learn courses. The issue has been identified and is being repaired. Please contact CIT if Spring 2021 courses in which you are enrolled are not listed in your Blackboard Learn course list: cit@ua.edu or 205-348-3532
