The Manage Blackboard Courses tool, in myBama, is getting an update to its interface. This tool allows the instructor of record to enable Blackboard for their course, if it isn’t already available, and to combine sections into super sections. The upcoming interface change makes the tool branded for UA and digitally accessible for all users.
What is changing?
- The look and feel of the Manage Blackboard Courses tool is changing. The color scheme was blue and white and will change to crimson.
- Previously the tool included tab navigation and will be updated to have buttons for enabling Blackboard courses and for combining courses into supersections.
- A new feature shows instructors what courses they have in their Blackboard course list.
Who does this affect?
- The tool is used by faculty & graduate students that are the instructor of record for academic courses.
- If your courses are already showing in Blackboard, as an individual course or within a supersection, this change in interface will not affect you. Most Blackboard courses are created automatically.
When will this change?
The update will be implemented on Monday, May 18, 2026.
