Known Issue – Blackboard Mobile App Login

Issue

Users may receive an error message when attempting to login to the Blackboard mobile app if they are still seeing the old mobile app login screen. The old mobile app login screen shows a “myBama username” field and a “Password” field. The error message reads “Incorrect username/password.” 

Solution

If a user sees a Blackboard login screen with a “myBama username” field and “myBama password” field (image above), follow these steps to resolve the issue: 

1. Select the Change link underneath the title “University of Alabama.”
2. Then re-type “University of Alabama” and choose the menu option that appears. 
3. Once selected, a message will appear underneath that reads “Your university requires web login. Tap the button below to continue.”
4. Select the Continue with Web-Login button. This will open the web login interface. 

The new login screen includes a login path for UA users (Login with myBama ID) and other users that may be part of a non-credit training/certification or may be a in a support role (All Other Users Login).

If these steps do not resolve the issue, users should remove the app from their device and install it again.
